The houston housing authority has implemented a secure web based applicant portal tool in an effort to better serve public housing and housing choice voucher section 8 applicants currently on our program waiting lists. The waiting list for the public housing program is currently closed we are not accepting applications. Prior to that it was august 2012 also for one week. When an anticipated date is determined the housing authority will post the information on our website. According to affordable housing online the last time the list was open was april 2017 for one week.

During the 2016 period 30 000 applicants were added to the list. The portal allows applicants to access and update their waiting list status information. 2016 we no longer administer the section 8 housing choice voucher program. We thank all of our partners especially houston public library and harris county public library for their help in making the wait list opening a huge success.

The last time the waiting list for the houston area was open was september 2016 for one week. Not being able to log in at this time does not affect your application or position on the 2016 waiting list. Sec8 wait list section 8 wait list is currently closed.
